Walt Disney World Dolphin Fountain

Walt Disney World Dolphin Fountain

A large fountain sits at the entrance to the Dolphin hotel at Walt Disney World in Florida. And the fountain is made of dolphins, of course.

For several years, I didn’t really appreciate the Swan and the Dolphin hotels. I think that I felt they were “second-class citizens” because they are not actually run by Disney, even though they are on Disney property. But now I enjoy them for what they are, great pieces of modern architecture.

However, I have never understood why what they call dolphins don’t look like any dolphins that I have ever seen. Big fish, yes, but not dolphins. But I guess architecture is a lot like art - you call it what you want, even if not everyone sees it that way.
