Photo: Jaylin Passes

Jaylin Passes

Each year, we make a Burns Family Calendar to give to our family members as a Christmas present. I hope that didn’t spoil the surprise for this coming Christmas, since we have done that for over five years now. Anyway, the photo that is on the calendar for this month is this photo of Jaylin making a pass in football.

As you can tell from his attire, this wasn’t during an actual football game. Instead, it was from a local NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick competition. This was as he and the others were warming up.

Believe it or not, this isn’t a posed photo. This is actually how he was making his pass. Look at that determination on his face! Look at that pose! When the results of the competition were in, Jaylin placed third in his age group. While that was not good enough to move him on to the next level, it was good enough to earn him a ribbon, and he was happy to get that.

Obviously, this photo is a year old now. Besides the fact that it was on a calendar I put together almost a year ago, I also know that because last weekend we went to this year’s competition. And this time around, Jaylin moved up to second place in his age group. Always nice to improve from one year to the next!
