Our Outside Christmas Lights for 2014

Here is what you have been waiting for - a look at our outside Christmas lights for this year. I was surprised to see that the last time I posted a photo of our outside lights was 2011. Not surprisingly, we have added a few things since then. New this year is an inflatable Mickey Mouse, which you can see near the center of the photo, and the winter Mickey and Minnie to the right, along with some small trees in front of the house and behind inflatable Mickey.

Also on the front porch is an older Mickey Mouse plastic light-up figure. He was rescued from the trash by some friends a few years ago and given to us. I had to completely redo the light inside him with all new parts and an energy-saving compact fluorescent lamp, but as you can see he glows quite well now.

Last year, we were so busy during the holiday season that we never did get around to putting out our outside Christmas lights, so it is nice to have them back this year. They may not be as big and fancy as what some people do, but that doesn’t matter to us. We are the main ones that see them, anyway, so coming home to a lighted house at night is lots of fun for us!

Especially if the inflatable Mickey hasn’t been blown over by the wind. Poor guy - he shouldn’t be such a pushover.
