Things I Found: Backwards Goofy Baseball Watch

Things I Found is a series looking at odds and ends that I have found in our house, usually while looking for something completely unrelated that I never do seem to find.

Today’s find is a Backwards Goofy Baseball Watch:

Backwards Goofy Baseball Watch

This was actually the second Backwards Goofy watch that I had. And I do have to say that it takes a little bit of practice getting used to telling time with a watch that runs backwards. But it can be done. And if you have trouble, you can always carry a small mirror with you. Or just use a regular watch. Or these days, just look at the time on your phone.

I was actually a bit perplexed when I found this watch, because all that I remembered was the regular Backwards Goofy watch. I will have to look for that one, too, because who knows what I might find when I look for it. I was wondering if someone might have given me this watch, because I just couldn’t remember.

Then I turned it over and looked at the back:

And with that, it came back to me. Sort of. I vaguely remember some sort of Disney Channel promotion where you could order this watch, and I apparently did. I really don’t remember how long ago that was, but it must have been in the early 1990s or so.

The watch doesn’t run right now, but I would suspect that a new battery would make it run just fine. If you consider running backwards just fine.

That just goes to show that you never know what you might find when you are looking for something else, and you might even remember some about what you found, too. Check back in the future for more Things I Found!
