Laura in the Snow

Laura in the Snow

Laura takes in the view of the snow while standing on our front porch recently. Well actually, the view is behind her here, but that was only because I got her to turn around for this photo. After that, she went back to taking in the view. And it was a nice view, too.

In our area, we have had quite a bit of winter weather in the last several weeks, but most of what we got was sleet and freezing rain. At times, everything was covered with ice, but we didn’t have much snow.

That changed when we got home Wednesday afternoon, however, as the snow was coming down pretty quickly. We watched it fill the yard and the driveway, and we decided that it would be safer to stay at home that night instead of venturing back out for the Wednesday evening church services.

It turned out to be a really nice looking snow, with at least 2" on the ground. Unfortunately, it didn’t last that long, because it was all gone by the time we got home Thursday afternoon. Quite a change from how things were when we had left that morning.

I know you are wondering, so yes, I did take a few photos of the snow, too, and you should probably expect to see those in the next few days. Some people like snow for building snowmen and throwing snowballs, but I like snow for the photos. For as long as I can stand to be out in the cold taking those photos.
