Zach's Senior Soccer Night

Zach’s Senior Soccer Night

Our good friend Zach Riedel is about to graduate from high school, and he and his family are enjoying all of the other activities that go along with that. Last week, Zach played in his last home soccer game. Before the game, the seniors and their parents were recognized. Actually, that was supposed to happen during halftime, but it was moved because of some scheduling conflicts.

I was there on the field with my camera to take some photos of the Riedel family. But it was a bit rushed because it was getting close to game time. And on top of that, the late afternoon sun made for some pretty harsh lighting. The photos I had were good, but I thought I could do better with another try.

After the game, we got the family back together, and the early evening light was much better than the late afternoon light. And besides that, most everyone had left the field, meaning there weren’t some random people in the background. Also, I removed a light pole that appeared to be growing up out of Zach’s shoulder, because it was a little distracting.

So here are Zach along with his proud parents Brant and Karen. I’m not sure why we excluded Katie from this photo, except that I suppose we were trying to recreate the Senior Night moment from earlier.

I was so pleased with how it turned out that I posted it here, after asking first, of course. Which I probably haven’t done all of the other times I have included the Riedels on the site here. But I thought I would this time, for whatever reason.

P.S. Even though Zach’s team lost that game, the one goal that they scored was scored by Zach, so that was exciting for all of us Zach fans!

P.P.S. If you are reading this on the day that it was originally posted (May 8, 2015), then it is Brant and Karen’s 22nd wedding anniversary! So if you see them, be sure to wish them a happy anniversary!
