Laura on the Cruise

Laura pauses for a photo on our cruise on the Disney Dream, one of the ships of the Disney Cruise Line.

Actually, this photo was taken as we were exploring the ship before it actually sailed away. You can see one of the funnels and the AquaDuck behind Laura to the right, and that is Port Canaveral behind her to the left of the photo. Because we had gotten there early, we hadn’t been able to go to our room yet, which is why Laura was still carrying her backpack.

But even though things were just getting started, we were already having a great time, as you can see from her smile. There is something exciting about knowing you are on a cruise ship, knowing that there is lots of fun ahead of you, even if the ship is still several hours away from actually sailing. And it is even better with good friends and family, which was how we were traveling.

So even though things were just getting started, this was still one of my favorite photos of the cruise. But truthfully, I have several favorites. Because you can’t pick just one favorite, can you?

May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. - Proverbs 5:18

About the Photo

I went with a bold, colorful look for this one, mainly to go with how the sun was already making things bright. And I really liked the bokeh from the f/1.8 lens here, too.

A single RAW exposure, processed in Photoshop. Read more about the photo software and gear I use at the camera gear page.
