A Beautiful Day at Cocoa Beach, Florida

Even though the clouds were filling the sky, we enjoyed a beautiful day at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida, during our Florida trip last summer. Read all about it at Burnsland!

Even though the clouds were filling the sky, we enjoyed a beautiful day at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida, during our Florida trip last summer. Actually, we enjoyed two beautiful days, because we came back about a week later for another day much like this one.

Yes, this is one of those times of the year that I start dreaming about the beach and all its beachy goodness. The warm sun, the warm temperatures, the refreshing water, the sand that gets in places you didn’t even know you had, the relaxing atmosphere, the seagulls and pelicans gliding overhead (just don’t look straight up at them, or share food with just one), the other weird people that come and go throughout the day, the saltwater that does a good job of cleaning out your sinuses when you accidentally get some up your nose, the feeling like you could stay there for the rest of time and not get bored with it. And did I mention the warm sun and the warm temperatures? I did? Well then, they are worth mentioning again. Because it has been cold here.

Actually, our winter here has been somewhat mild this year, overall. There have been some cold days, and just a little bit of snow, but so far it hasn’t been that bad. Not nearly as much to complain about as last year, actually, when we had several days of snow and even more days of bitterly cold temperatures.

But to me, cold is still cold, and summer is still summer. So while it is cold, I’m trying to be as patient as I can as I wait for the summer to finally arrive. And then I’m hoping that it doesn’t go by too quickly once it gets here.

However, there comes a time in a guy’s life when he starts to wonder if he should do something different for a change. Is he in a rut, going to the same place every year? Should he break out and try something different? Something that doesn’t involve a beach?

But no, I am not having a midlife crisis. What would lead you to think that? Just because I have reached what most people would consider midlife, or maybe even passed it, according to some people?

No, I ask myself those questions every year. And going someplace different would probably be fun. But Laura and I both really enjoy our time at the beach and the relaxation that we find there. Plus, last year due to all sorts of reasons we didn’t get our week-long, adults-only trip to the beach, so we are missing it a little, even though we did end up spending a couple of days there, as you can see above. And they were very good days, too.

So what does the future hold? Who knows? Not me, because we haven’t decided yet.

Bible Verse

Like snow in summer and rain at harvest, honor is inappropriate for a fool. - Proverbs 26:1
