The Little Mermaid in the Magic Kingdom

Ariel, the Little Mermaid, outside of her attraction in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Read all about it at Burnsland!

The Little Mermaid, more commonly known as Ariel to you and me and her friends, waves to the sky from the front of a ship in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, with Prince Eric’s castle in the background.

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but I have always thought having Ariel out there like that was a little bit of an interesting choice. Fortunately, it isn’t anything like that they caught her and had her stuffed and mounted or anything, but sometimes that’s how my mind works. Also, most of the ships’ mastheads that I have seen aren’t waving like that, and I guess most of them aren’t smiling, either. Not that I am a ship expert or anything, but I’m just remembering what I have seen.

But of course, this isn’t the real world, and that isn’t a real ship. So it does exactly what it is supposed to do and lets you know that there is something about the Little Mermaid inside. Unless, of course, you are one of the few people who haven’t seen the movie and don’t know who the red-haired mermaid is. But you do still know that you are at a Disney park, right? So maybe it all still makes sense. If not, just move along to that show with the singing bears, or maybe the Scary Mansion.

Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind! - Psalm 66:5

About the Photo

This was just a quick photo as we were walking by to cash in our FastPasses for the ride. No long setup or anything here, which is actually the case for most of my park photos, especially during the daytime, as you probably know from having read other blurbs like this here.

Processing was actually rather simple as well. Just a couple of quick presets, followed by a couple of color adjustments to make it look more like I wanted it to look, and it was done. I did go with a more golden yellow color scheme that I have been using lately, just because I like it.
