A Walk Through the Gaylord Opryland Resort (a video)

While we were at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee, for the Lads to Leaders Convention, we did quite a bit of walking. So here is a short video of a look at one of our walks:

If you were wondering, we went through the Delta Island to the convention area to get some lunch from the temporary food carts that were set up for the weekend, and then we walked back to our room. It all went by rather quickly, so here are some highlights. You can click on each one to see it larger if you so desire.

I was behind Laura and Jaylin for a while, and my mom was with us, too. But for most of the walk, they ended up behind me. Something about how I walk too quickly or something.

While it may not be apparent in the first viewing, there is an abrupt cut. We stopped to talk to some of our fellow church people, as you can see Mom doing here, and so I stopped the video during that time, and in fact I didn’t start it back until after we had our food and were on the way back to Mom’s room to eat it.

I apparently don’t do a good job of holding the camera straight. And several of the photos were blurry because of the low light levels, although you can’t tell that much when they are zipping right by.

There weren’t many people out, because it was early in the day, right before lunch time. Later on, this area would be full of people.

I like this area of the hotel, and it often shows up in some of my Gaylord Opryland Resort photos. And we like walking on those upper levels, too.

There’s a quick look at Mom, in case you couldn’t catch her in the video.

Not only do we walk a lot when we are there, but we also walk up several flights of stairs. Much faster than waiting for the elevators. And it is good for your health, too. Although my heart doesn’t always agree right after going up five flights.

Some of those corridors seem to go on forever. And they all look the same, except for the different colors of carpet in the different sections of the hotel. So it is quite easy to get turned around sometimes. Maybe they should have some sort of hotel-specific GPS service or something.

Mom stopped at her room, but we kept going on to our room…

And here we are! Although we actually just went there to get some drinks from our refrigerator before going back to Mom’s room to eat with her. Since she did have a balcony looking out over the Cascades, after all.

Thanks for joining us for our little video adventure!
