Family Portraits from Lads to Leaders 2016

Each year when we go to the Lads to Leaders Convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, we take some family portraits on Easter Sunday at the hotel, since it offers so many interesting backdrops. This year was no different, so here are a few of the photos that we took.

We started off in the Cascades section, to get some photos by the waterfall there, so here are the two of us with the waterfall background. This isn’t the same waterfall in the Delta Island, seen in earlier posts from last week, by the way. They have several nice waterfalls there.

And just for fun, we let Jaylin in the photo, too. Also, I was trying some new processing stuff with these photos, and I really like how the colors came out. Almost a vintage film look, but not quite.

Next up, we have Laura by herself with some interesting yellowish flowers behind her in the Garden Conservatory area of the hotel. I always enjoy the natural lighting and all the plants in the Garden Conservatory, so that is where we usually go for our photos.

Still in the Garden Conservatory (as are the rest of the photos), I always like this small footbridge over a narrow stream, so we often take photos there, such as this one of Jaylin.

And then here is Laura on the same footbridge. I like it, especially with the rocks in the background.

And then here are the two of us, together again. I had handed off the camera to someone else in our group, if you hadn’t guessed. This is the exact same location as the previous photo, but the colors look all different because of how I processed the photo. Just in case you were wondering. No sense having all of the photos look exactly the same, after all.

And since the Streets were on the photo tour with us, I got a photo of them as well. It was nice to have them along with us, since in the past they have always had other things they were doing at that time.

Finally, here is my Mom with Laura and Jaylin. My Dad was there, too, but for some reason he didn’t get in any of our photos. He said he hadn’t changed much since last year when we took similar photos. So even though you don’t see him, he really was there, just so you know.

So there you have the latest edition of our smiling faces in Easter Sunday family photos. And I would guess that if you check back next year a week or two after Easter, you might see some more photos of us. It’s a tradition, after all. Anyone else want to tag along next year? The more the merrier!

About the Photos

These photos were mostly edited using the filters of the Nik Collection, which I had also mentioned in the Grand Floridian photo the other day. If you use Photoshop or Lightroom, you might want to check them out, since they are free after all.
