Pickwick Boat Dock

Pickwick Boat Dock in Tennessee

The boat dock at the Pickwick Landing State Park Inn near Pickwick Dam, Tennessee.

This past weekend, our church had a Couples Retreat at Pickwick Landing State Park. It was a great weekend, and I think that everyone who was there is ready for another retreat very soon. Those that weren’t there really missed out on a uplifting weekend, too.

We did have a bit of free time during the retreat, and Laura and I enjoyed exploring the area. We walked out on the boat dock on the lake. If you aren’t familiar with Pickwick, it is a lake created by one of the TVA dams on the Tennessee River. I thought the dock out into the still water of the lake under the high clouds made for a good photo location.

Actually walking out on the dock was fun, too. But we didn’t try the water, because it was pretty cold that day. And pushing someone else in is probably not a good way to stay married. Especially on a Couples Retreat.
