Watch Out, They Spit!

Spitting Camels at the Magic Carpets of Aladdin in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

This golden camel stands at the entrance to the Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. As the Genie said in Aladdin, “Watch out, they spit!” Because it does. It can feel good on a hot day, unless you aren’t expecting it, and no, it isn’t really camel spit, but just plain old water. And there is another camel that faces the carpets of the ride.

These camels were originally on a float in Aladdin’s Royal Caravan, a parade at Disney-MGM Studios that debuted when the movie was first released in 1992. And the camels would spit in the parade, too, in case you were wondering. It is always interesting to see items from the past pop up in different places around Walt Disney World. Because the parade has been gone for quite a while, most guests probably don’t know where the camels came from. Just another fun fact from Walt Disney World.
