A Seaside Castle in Fantasyland

A Seaside Castle in Fantasyland, at the Little Mermaid attraction in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

Prince Eric’s castle serves as the entrance to Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, one of the new attractions in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

No, this castle was not one of the stops for the cruise ship, although that would have been nice. But after our Disney Cruise ended, we took a side trip to Walt Disney World to enjoy a day at the Magic Kingdom before heading home. And this visit was our first time to see the new Fantasyland, including the new Little Mermaid ride with the really long, difficult-to-remember name. To be honest, I had to look up what the name was before I typed it here. Most people just call it “Something Something Little Mermaid Something.” Or something like that.

But no matter what the name of it was, we really enjoyed the Little Mermaid ride. Two of the four Riedels (the family that we traveled with) had seen it before, and they thought it was so-so. Which is fine. But it now easily ranks as my favorite Fantasyland attraction. Really well done, and even better than I expected.

Now if I could just remember the name.
