Colorful Umbrellas on Castaway Cay

Colorful umbrellas line the beach at Castaway Cay, the private island of the Disney Cruise Line.

When we arrived at the beach at Castaway Cay on our Disney cruise, the first thing we did was to stake out our spot. You may not think it was such a great spot, because we aren’t right up close to the water. But that was fine with us. The main thing we were looking for was two umbrellas together that weren’t already taken - one for us, and one for the Riedels. No one seemed to mind that we weren’t closer to the water. And actually, I rather liked this colorful view from all of the umbrellas, plus the chairs and palm trees, too.

We did spend some time in the water, and we spent some time at other areas of the island, too. So our spot was pretty centrally located for everything that we did.

The only bad thing about it was trying to find our spot when we came up from the water. Because from a distance, all of those umbrellas start to look the same after a while. I should have made a note of what color our umbrellas were. Not that it would have helped me find them any faster.
