Nassau Street Scene

Nassau Street Scene

This was a typical street scene when we were in Nassau, Bahamas, as part of our Disney Cruise Line cruise. We enjoyed walking through the streets to see what we could see, stopping in at some of the shops along the way.

One thing that was interesting to us was that the trees were growing up through the buildings, as you can see a couple of trees doing here. They would grow up through the ceiling/floor between the first and second levels, and then grow out from under the roof over the second level. It really was rather strange to see trees growing out of buildings like that. Makes me wonder if they had always planned for it to be like that and they had started out with small trees.  And maybe they had to make plans once the trees got taller. I don’t really know. But still, it was neat to see.

Another neat thing about this photo is that way over on the right side of the frame, you can see one of the funnels of the Disney Dream. Seeing the ship from all over that part of town always helps me to keep my bearings and to find my way back to where we are supposed to be.

On top of all that, the two ladies crossing the street at the crosswalk add a nice touch, too, I think.
