Castaway Cay Family Beach, and Football Season

A Relaxing View

castaway cay beach

The Castaway Cay Family Beach, which is the main beach on the Disney Cruise Line’s private island of Castaway Cay. Yes, it is as nice as it looks. Even on a cloudy day.

I know that this photo probably doesn’t have a clear focus. But to me, the main focus is just the atmosphere, bringing back memories of a fun day spent there with friends and family. The processing I used for this photo gives it an almost dream-like view, and Castaway Cay is a place I could daydream about for a while. Also, I do like how the curving line of rocks leads your eye to the main beach and the palm trees behind it.

By the way, that palm tree just to the right of center that is taller than all the others? That is actually an antenna for the wireless phones that the Disney Cruise Line provides in the staterooms, so that they work on the island as well as on the ship. Pretty cool.

Football Season

Football season has finally arrived. Actually, it arrived at our house a few weeks ago, because Jaylin has already had three football games, as well as a couple of scrimmage games. So we have been in full football mode for a while.

But then the college football season started this past Thursday, and it got into full swing on Saturday. Just in time for a holiday weekend. And to top it off, the NFL season starts this coming Thursday, and it will be going strong on Sunday. I have my fantasy team all ready to go. I hope.

So yes, football season is a big event in our house for all of the reasons listed above. And if you knew us way back when, you might think that is just a bit ironic. But we all three do love football. Although I prefer to watch it instead of playing it.

And besides, football season means one more thing: there is finally something worth watching on TV for a few months. That is always good, too.
