Laura and Mater

Laura stops for a quick photo with her good friend Mater from the Pixar movie Cars at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort in Florida. Okay, so maybe they aren’t really close friends, but you can’t tell it from their smiles.

One of the neat things about the Cars section of the Art of Animation Resort is that you can usually just walk right up to the life-size recreations of the characters to get a photo with them. No waiting in long lines like you would have to do at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, unless a lot of people are on their way to or from their hotel rooms. But as you can see here, there weren’t many people around.

And also unlike Hollywood Studios, you aren’t just limited to Lightning McQueen and Mater. All of them are there, including Sally, Fillmore, Sarge, Ramone, Flo, Luigi,  Guido, and Sheriff. It’s a Cars Bonanza!

About the photo:
Just a quick photo, nothing really unusual here. However, although it was still relatively early in the morning, the sun was already pretty harsh, so I used Lightroom to bring out the shadow detail just a bit, as well as to increase the color saturation to my liking.
