A Night Stroll on Main Street USA

A Night Stroll on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

Lots of people were out for a night stroll on Main Street USA at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

Actually, most of them were doing more than just strolling around. Some were sitting on the curb waiting for the evening’s parade. Some were walking quickly up Main Street to try to find a shorter line for their favorite rides. And some were trying to avoid running into the PhotoPass photographer who was set up right in the middle of the street.

I know some would complain about this photo. There are too many people in it, especially the people at the left of the frame. The photo isn’t centered on the street. Cinderella Castle isn’t even at the center of the photo. And so on.

But I like it, because it puts me right back there, as if I am standing in the middle of all of it on Main Street. And if you have ever been there in the blue hour on a summer night, you know how you constantly have to dodge people going this way and that. No way I was going to try to set up a tripod with all of that going on. Just a quick handheld shot was fine for me. Especially when it turns out like this.

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. - Matthew 14:14
