Daily Photo: Dinosaur Gertie

Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction is found at Echo Lake in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. Gertie is actually from the cartoon “Gertie the Dinosaur,” created by Windsor McCay, which was one of the first animated features. Interestingly, although I have several pictures of Gertie, I have never had any of her ice cream. Maybe one of these days.

About the Photo

The palm-type trees currently block some of the view of Gertie, which doesn’t look that bad in person but is more distracting in a photo. Three exposures (-2, 0, +2) tonemapped in Photomatix, edited in PaintShop Pro. Read more about the photo software I use.
