Daily Photo: Tomorrowland and Blue Sky

Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is topped by a brilliant blue sky as people go in and out of the Merchant of Venus shop.

I must admit that I have a love/hate relationship with Tomorrowland. Well, hate may be a bit too strong of a word. Except when I’m talking about the stage near Space Mountain and the dance party/show they do there. I hate that.

But besides that, overall I do like the retro-futuristic theme of Tomorrowland. The stainless steel and all the futuristic contraptions are pretty neat and make for some rather interesting photos.

But I still miss the old days when everything was gleaming white. I suppose that was the future of my childhood, and I grew rather fond of it. And I do miss Mission to Mars and the CircleVision movie, not to mention If You Had Wings.

And of the newer things, I didn’t think Alien Encounter was all that bad. A step or two above Stitch’s Great Escape, in my opinion. And although I always find myself laughing out loud at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, I don’t really see how that fits into the whole Tomorrowland theme. I enjoyed Timekeeper when he was in that location much more, because Robin Williams was always good for a laugh, too.

So I wouldn’t rate Tomorrowland as bad, but I do sometimes feel nostalgic for the old days.
