Daily Photo: Tomorrowland Entrance

Tomorrowland entrance in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

The entrance to Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is dominated by this unusual archway. Is it a spaceship? A robot? A Martian mind-probe? An antenna for communicating with other planets? A device so that Disney can scan your wallet and see how much money you have left to spend? I have no idea. But whatever it is, I always find it to be cool.

And I must say that I usually spend all my time looking up at that thing, probably trying to figure out what it is. Or I am looking ahead at Tomorrowland off in the distance. Because of that, I never really look down to notice the gears and stuff in the pavement under my feet. And those gears are pretty cool, too.

Also in photos like this, it is interesting to notice the different people. Some of them are going in different directions. Some of them are dressed a little strangely. And if we come back and look at this photo in about 20 years, we will be amazed by the clothes that even the average-looking people are wearing. Photos make good time machines, after all.
