Daily Photo: In the Waves

There is nothing like standing in the waves to get the photo that you want. And that is what I was doing here, at Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Actually, I was squatting down in the waves, so that I would get just the right perspective on things, because with the wide angle lens I was using, it was necessary to get down close to the water to get everything to look just right.

And then right before the wave would actually hit me, I had to stand up quickly to keep the camera from getting soaked with water. Did you know that with a wide angle lens, objects are much closer than they appear through the viewfinder? There may have been a couple of close calls there, but everything turned out okay.

And I got the shot I wanted, too.

About the shot: A single RAW exposure, processed in Adobe Lightroom and PaintShop Pro. Read more about the photo software and gear I use at the camera gear page. Camera: Canon EOS 60D Lens: Sigma 10-20mm
