Daily Photo: Grand Canyon Concourse

Grand Canyon Concourse in the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World

The Monorail platform inside the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World overlooks the Grand Canyon Concourse in the center of the hotel.

I’m not really sure if they refer to it much as the Grand Canyon Concourse anymore, because I don’t hear it called that all that often. And of course, there is now that Fantasia shop with the big Mickey-shaped entrances, too, which doesn’t really fit in with the Grand Canyon scheme of things.

But at least they haven’t covered over the Mary Blair mural that surrounds the elevators. I think there would probably be a major uprising from several people if they ever did that. And the mural still carries the Grand Canyon theme. So maybe it still is the Grand Canyon Concourse after all.
