Daily Photo: Spaceship Earth for Epcot 30

Spaceship Earth at Epcot

Spaceship Earth stands at the entrance to Epcot as the symbol for the park. And although people don’t always know what to call it - Spacestation Earth, The Big Sphere, That Golf Ball Thing - most everyone immediately recognizes it as being from Walt Disney World in general, and more specifically, from Epcot.

All this week, the Daily Photos will be from Epcot in honor of EPCOT Center’s 30th anniversary, as it opened on October 1, 1983.

I gave this photo somewhat of a vintage look, although it is from 2011 instead of 1983. However, since they removed the large Mickey hand and wand, Spaceship Earth looks much as it did in 1983, except for different paint schemes on the supports.

About the shot:
A single RAW exposure, processed in Adobe Lightroom. Read more about the photo software and gear I use at the camera gear page.
