The Earfful Tower at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Earfful Tower at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World is found on the Backlot Tour. Originally, it was considered the symbol of Disney-MGM Studios, but those days are long gone.

Actually, even when the tower was used as the symbol, it was difficult to get a good view of it because of its location. In the first year or two, you could see it from the courtyard in front of what is now The Magic of Disney Animation, which was originally the entrance to the Backlot Tour, but a new building was built that now mostly blocks the view from that location.

So now, about the only way you can see the Earfful Tower is by riding the tram on the Backlot Tour, which is where this shot came from, or by driving down World Drive outside of the park.

But when I think of a symbol for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I still think of the Earfful Tower. Because all real movie studios have a water tower, right? And I have yet to see a real studio that has a big Sorcerer Hat.
