Inside the Walt Disney World Swan

Inside the Swan hotel at Walt Disney World is found this fountain of swans, obviously continuing the theme of the hotel. Swans are found in several places throughout the building.

I must admit that I don’t always “get” the theme of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels. Sure, the Polynesian is set in the Polynesian islands, the Grand Floridian is a turn-of-the-century Victorian resort, the Wilderness Lodge represents National Park lodges, and so on. But a hotel themed to a swan, and a hotel themed to a dolphin? Okay. Who am I to criticize art?

Once you get past that small point, both the Swan and the Dolphin are loaded with great views, nice details, and just a touch of whimsy here and there. And once I see all of those things, I don’t mind the swan and dolphin themes at all.

And even though I do like Mickey Mouse, it is nice to have some things at Walt Disney World that don’t have Mickey or other characters all over them. Pretty cool.
