Fence in the Rain

The gate to our horse pasture fence as seen from our back porch. Normally, I would try to get a little closer and find an interesting angle to these fence posts. But although you can’t really see it here, it was raining pretty hard when I shot this. So for me, this distant view from the dry porch works just fine.

I did struggle with the colors just a bit. “Wait a minute,” you say. “I don’t see much in the way of colors here.” Yes, that is because I removed them all. The sky was gray, the grass was brown, and the rainy conditions made everything look dreary. Because of that, I decided to go with a colorless photo. Because for some reason, no colors are more interesting than dull colors. At least to me.

For the record, I do actually enjoy rainy days. Yes, I have been known to complain about the rain on Social Media, but I really don’t mind it. However, for comedy, you have to go where the laughs are, and complaining about rain is always easy.

After posting endless photos over the last several months from our Disney trips, I am trying to broaden things a bit and include more general photos, too. And shooting things around the house seems like a good place to start. Everything at home seems rather ordinary to me, because I see it all the time. Therefore, it creates a bit of a challenge to look at things in a different way. Maybe that will keep me on my toes.
