Re: 2022 National Model Railroad convention, Tacoma

I can imagine how crazy that must have been shuffling tour groups through your home, which probably was never designed to be a tourist attraction. Yeah, that was my biggest worry. I'd heard horror stories about things broken, stolen, visitor acting like total jerks. One guy who had a large layout o...

2022 National Model Railroad convention, Tacoma

The National Narrow Gauge Convention officially ended Sunday, but there were tours scheduled for me and a few other layouts Monday morning. Re: Galactic Starcruiser opinions

I've been reading some not good reviews of this, directly in relation to the phenomenal prices involved. Very little of what I read is favorable in relation to the cost of going. As Steve wrote, I'm a big Star Wars fan but hardly a 'super fan' type who'd spend almost the cost of a new car on a night...

Finally got a model train magazine cover shot...

No photo focus stacking used. I didn't even use Photoshop on this shot. I only cropped the photo, all the FX are in real time in the shot!

Re: Track being relaid

I have heard there's a tunnel at WDW that is too short for the locomotives to go through as apparently they didn't factor in the height of the ties and the rails. Any truth to that and if so, how do they plan on fixing it?

This isn't Tweetsie RR, this is a Christian camp in Hampton, TN which owns the original ET&WNC grade through the Doe River Gorge area.

Re: Smoke and Fire o’er Doe River Gorge

Thanks for posting this, I had no idea they were this close. Such a shame they wouldn't paint her in 'anniversary' green and gold but at least she'll be painted like the 19th century ET&WNC colors (sort of) and the correct road name. DRG is amazing, one of the best kept secrets in RR preservatio...
