Justin, the minimum requirements are very basic: Win 7+ and a graphic card that supports DX9 or better. So anything since 2004 should work.

If you want to get real time lighting and shadows and the green scenery outside then you'll need a dedicated NVIDIA or ATI card with DX11 and 1GB+ of VRAM.

But I haven't optimized the sim for performance yet. That'll be the last thing to do before release.

Looks awesome! Only change I'd make...and maybe it's a waste of pixels and not worth it...is that the tie spacing is too great. Try to make about one tie's width between each tie, and you'll be closer!

I wish it were closer, too, but yes that would pretty much double the number of ties the computer will have to draw... :o

And the camera angle was very low... from the cab you can't really see the large spacing.

You're right--it looks fine from the cab.

Some new images!

She's (they're!) running great! I love testing when the sun is setting. It’s great when I find the sweet spot on the throttle and the reverser hooked up just right: she coasts herself down the tracks, holding steady pace; the fire is holding well and the pressure is rock solid–just gotta remember to add water once in a while! The engine vibrates a little from the road, her brass glows in the low sun. Watch the sky turn deep purple, and listen to the soundtrack of the clickety clack, her soft huffing from the stack, the wind whooshing by the window, and the soft roar of the fire! :o

As always, newest updates on my blog... including a new preview video
