Grizzly Flats Depot

Post by motorcarman »

I was wondering if anyone has any drawings or photos of the back side of the Grizzly Flats Depot. I've read Steve's article on Miceage and found quite a few pictures on the internet of the front and sides, but none of the back of the depot or the depot at disneyland. Any pics or drawings floating around?

thanks,

Thomas

I have the Scale Structures Limited O scale model still in the box. It's not immediately accessible but if you don't get a reply in the next couple of days I can dig out the drawings and scan them.

I believe that it was mentioned in an old Railroad Modeler magazine article, which also included plans, that the Ward's Station did not have any doors or windows on the rear wall, that wall being one constructed when it was assembled at his home from parts salvaged from the 3-sided movie set from "So Dear To MY Heart". I believe the plans published added in a window and door, though.

check to see if the grizzly flats rail road site is still up. There was an excellent photo of Ward sitting at his desk inside the depot with a good shot of the rear wall and what was actually inside as well.

This reply is two years late but I mentioned that I would post drawings from the SS Ltd Grizzly Flats Depot Kit. Here they are:

No drawing of the back side is included.

The drawings were in 0 scale, I scanned them at 300dpi and then resized them by
25% for web display. Pardon the creases, the plan has been folded up inside the box
for *many* years...

The back is a mirror-image of the front. Take my drawing from the "drawings" forum and simply flip it.

It is a mirror image with the caveats that the 3 walled ticket window is mirrored directly across from each other as are the doors. So if both set of doors were opened you would look completely through the building to the outside.

Are we talking Frontierland here or Grizzly Flats?
