Disney-related DVDs

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (Special Edition) - A new 2-disc set of the classic Disney live-action movie. Starring James Mason, Kirk Douglas, Paul Lukas, and Peter Lorre, this movie follows three men as they stumble across Captain Nemo and his submarine, the Nautilus. The set also provides much material on the making of the movie.

The Love Bug (Special Edition) - A new 2-disc set of the top movie of 1969. Disney favorite Dean Jones stars along with Michele Lee and Buddy Hackett in the story of a Volkswagen with something special. Featuring an audio commentary with the three stars, along with several behind the scenes features.

Pirates of the Caribbean - A fun movie based on the Disney attraction of the same name. Headlined by a great performance by Johnny Depp, this movie mixes action and adventure with a little bit of romance, mystery, and the supernatural.

Tron (20th Anniversary Collector's Edition) - An amazing film when it was released over 20 years ago, and still impressive to watch today. A programmer gets zapped into the computer world, where he is forced to play games against other programs. The computer graphics are spectacular, especially given the technology of the time, and the Wendy Carlos score is also intriguing (check out the CDs page for the soundtrack).

Walt Disney Treasures - Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studio - A great look at what goes on at the Disney Studios, or at least how things were done during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. Some of the content here is made up of episodes of the old Disney television show where Walt would explain how cartoons are made. But also included is the feature film The Reluctant Dragon which gave viewers a complete tour of the studio through the eyes of humorist Robert Benchley as he attempts to get Walt to turn a story into an animated movie. It is fun to see some of the animators at work and to get an overview of how things were done.

Walt Disney Treasures - Davy Crockett - This 2-disc set features all five of the Davy Crockett television episodes. The different episodes were later edited together into two movies, so obviously these episodes contain more material than the movies. Also included is an interview with Fess Parker, who starred as Crockett, and a look at the Davy Crockett merchandise craze of the 1950s.

Walt Disney Treasures - Disneyland USA - A great look at the history of Disney's first theme park. Disc 1 starts with The Disneyland Story, a look at the park as it was under construction, and then goes to Dateline: Disneyland, the live broadcast from the park's grand opening. Disc 2 includes Disneyland After Dark, featuring performances in the park by Louis Armstrong, Annette Funicello, the Osmond Brothers, and more. Also on Disc 2 is The Tenth Anniversary Show, which features Walt introducing viewers to projects in development, including Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. Great fun for any Disneyland fan!

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Vista Series) - The amazing film that shows a world where cartoons and humans co-exist. Great fun to watch over and over again to find all the classic cartoon characters and hidden gags. The set also features the three Roger Rabbit cartoons, "Tummy Trouble", "Rollercoaster Rabbit", and "Trail Mix-Up".
