Disneyland Railroad - Frontierland Station

For the first few years of Disneyland's operation, the railroad only stopped at Main Street and Frontierland. The other stations were added in later years.

The original Frontierland Station was modeled on the train station set from the Disney movie So Dear To My Heart; the original movie set was given to Ward Kimball, who used it as his Grizzly Flats Railroad station. The original Frontierland Station now sits across the tracks from the current platform. Interestingly, this station could be seen in one of the photos from the "Two Brothers" section of Epcot's American Adventure show; this section was also used in Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln until its recent refurbishment.

Once New Orleans Square opened in 1966, Frontierland Station was actually in that area of the park, but the signs still referred to it as Frontierland Station until the mid 1990s, when the New Orleans Square name was added to the main sign, although other signs still identify it as Frontierland Station.
