Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn

When Walt Disney built his Carolwood Pacific Railroad around his home, one of the major elements was a barn. This barn was built based on memories of the Disney family barn from Walt's childhood. The barn was the center of operations for the Carolwood Pacific.

After Lillian Disney's passing, the barn was removed from the Carolwood Drive property before the home was sold. The barn was relocated to the Los Angeles Live Steamers at Griffith Park. The barn is now open the third Sunday of each month, operated by the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society. Admission is free, and the Los Angeles Live Steamers are always on hand to give rides on small scale steam locomotives. Often, guest speakers are brought in to the barn. The barn celebrated its 5th anniversary in Griffith Park on July 18, 2004.

Below are pictures of the barn from the 5th anniversary celebration. Many thanks to Matt Walker of StartedByAMouse.com for providing the pictures.
