Frontierland StationThe original Frontierland Station opened in 1971 at the present site of Splash Mountain. This small station featured gingerbread trim, and a covered waiting platform. The original station was removed at the beginning of construction on Splash Mountain. The original water tower, located at the Frontierland Station, was also removed at this time. The current Frontierland Station opened in 1992, having a more rustic, far west look than the original, to keep with the visual theme of Splash Mountain. While waiting, guests can view the baggage office, or look across the platform at the Splash Mountain courtyard, seeing the activity of the people waiting in line, perhaps even glimpsing a character or two in the courtyard. There is also a small seating area inside the station. If they choose to disembark at the Frontierland Station, guests encounter the attractions of Frontierland, including Big Thunder Mountain and the Rivers of America, as well as the Country Bear Jamboree. | ||
