Daily Photo: Dinosaur at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Dinosaur in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World

From the time that Disney’s Animal Kingdom first opened, one of my favorite attractions at the park has always been Dinosaur. Although I still know it fondly by its original name, Countdown to Extinction.

However, I am not that big of a fan of dinosaurs, themselves. Well, actually that is not true. I think dinosaurs are really cool, and it would be really neat to see one in person. Except for the fact that they might tear my arms off, or some other thing like that. I actually mean that I am not that knowledgeable about dinosaurs, so I can’t tell you that much about most of the dinosaurs in the ride, like so many of the kids today can.

Probably the real reason that I like the ride is that it uses the same spectacular ride system that the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland uses. In fact, it is even the same track layout. The main difference is that you see dinosaurs instead of Indiana Jones stuff.

I wish they would build more attractions like this. I like rides that actually take you somewhere better than 3D movies and stage shows any day.  Even when they involve dinosaurs.
