It's Laura's Birthday!

A photo of my wife Laura from the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in honor of her birthday. Read all about it at Burnsland!

Today is the birthday of this lovely girl, so be sure to wish her a happy birthday if you get the chance. I’m sure she would appreciate it. Because everyone likes to feel special on their birthday, after all.

She still hasn’t caught up with me in age, so that means that she isn’t that old at all. You can always see some people look surprised when they find out how long we have been married, and they are starting to do some math in their heads. Of course, Laura’s four-year-old kindergarten students think she is ancient, but we all know that isn’t true. After Laura was telling them the other day that she was old enough that she doesn’t have a birthday party, one of her students said, “I will miss you, Miss Laura,” as if to say she was very close to death at her advanced age. But we all know that isn’t true, even if it is good for a laugh. After all, Laura always likes to remind me that she is still younger than me. Which is true. And I’m feeling just fine, if you are wondering. It helps to hang out with a younger, good-looking girl to keep me young.

By the way, this photo was taken at the same time as the Family Portraits from Lads to Leaders, although this photo wasn’t used in that post. I had to save something out to use for Laura’s birthday, after all. And I liked the way this one turned out.

But instead of just one photo, how about two? Here is one from our walk to Jones Chapel Cemetery last month:

Lauras birthday 2

Whether she is dressing up or dressing down, I don’t mind at all.

Happy birthday to my beautiful wife!

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. - Proverbs 31:10-12
