Thanksgiving Photos 2013

One thing that we look forward to each Thanksgiving is time with  family. And sometimes, we manage to get everyone together for a group photo or two. This year was no different.

Our main Thanksgiving gathering was at my parents’ house, and we had the usual large crowd. Not too large, of course, because we are all family, after all. And fortunately, we had more than enough food for everyone. In fact, some of us stayed around and had another meal of leftovers for supper. So everything was just right. And we got everyone together for a photo, too. Here it is:

Included here are both of my grandmothers, my parents, my aunt, my cousin, her husband, and their two sons. And of course the three of us. When I posted this on Facebook, someone commented that we are blessed to be able to have both of my grandmothers there. Yes, we are.

Then the next day, we got together with our “other” family, the Riedels. Okay, so we aren’t really related, but don’t tell any of us that. This gathering was a little more relaxed, with slightly fewer people, so taking photos was easier.

We started with the adults while the kids were upstairs playing:

Then we did the Riedels:

Followed by the girls:

Then the Riedel kids (although Zach is quickly approaching non-kid status):

Next up was the Burnses:

And then all of us together:

Looking back on past gatherings, I sometimes wish we had taken more photos, even if I never really have done much with the photos that we do have.

One thing I have learned is that you never can have too many photos. Especially of family.

Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. Buy the truth and do not sell it - wisdom, instruction and insight as well. The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful! - Proverbs 23:22-25
