Cinderella Castle Walls at Walt Disney World
Sometimes I like to look for different photo angles when we are at Walt Disney World, just to have something a little different from all of our other trips, and perhaps different from what everyone else’s photos as well. I found just such an angle during our visit last December to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
This view is probably not your typical view of Cinderella Castle. It certainly is not what I immediately think of when I picture the castle in my mind. But maybe that is what makes this view a little more unique and unusual.
If you are turned around, this photo is from the east side of Cinderella Castle, which would be the side toward Tomorrowland. I was on the Fantasyland side of the castle, looking back toward Main Street USA. I liked the brick pattern in the castle wall, and I liked the view of the water in the moat around the castle as well. So I snapped a quick photo and then we moved on to wherever it was that we were going next.
Another reason that I like this photo is that there are no people visible, unless you zoom in really close on the Main Street USA area of the photo. And even then they may be difficult to see. The Magic Kingdom was pretty busy that day with the usual before-Christmas crowds, but I like that there are areas of the park that are without people so that you can get a relaxing view like this one, even on the busier days.
So this is not your standard photo of Cinderella Castle or the Magic Kingdom that you will see over and over again. But instead it is just a little snapshot that to me captures some of the atmosphere of the area and shows a different side of things from what you normally see. But the location is not the only thing that makes this photo a little different. Keep on reading in the “About the photo” section below.

About the photo:
The original version of this photo was really rather boring. Yes, the subject was interesting enough, but the photo itself was bland and flat. The sky was overcast, and that made everything just look dull and gray. So I did a good bit of work to it to change and bring out the colors.
In some ways, the final version of the photo, the one you see above, looks rather strange. After all, those colors are not quite normal, and they are not quite the way that they look when you are there in real life. However, I was not trying to be a documentary photographer here, but instead I was going for an artistic look. So I don’t mind at all the way that the photo looks. To me, the bold colors are eye catching. And it is definitely different from the original version.

It almost looks like a different photo, doesn’t it? But it is indeed the same one, just with a large amount of editing. Always remember to shoot in Raw mode to make sure that you have some options available to you when you are processing your photos.
