As part of the Memorial Day weekend, Bartlett Woods Church of Christ (where we attend) had a special service on Sunday to honor those who have served or are serving in the military or as first responders. It was a great day, and we had many people there to enjoy it.
One of the highlights was when the Hospital Wing helicopter landed on the back lawn. That brought out many of the neighbors who hadn’t already wandered over because of all the fire trucks, police cars, and military vehicles that were there. This photo was as the Hospital Wing was getting ready to take off near the end of the evening. There had been some rain earlier, but as you can see here, it ended up being just right outside for this event.
I say that the helicopter was one of the highlights, but actually, the whole thing was one big highlight. So many people said something about how special the day was, and I agree. I hope this will be an annual event, and in fact that is the plan. Because where would we be without those who protect us?
Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. – Romans 13:7
