The interesting thing about this hat is that is not the current issue plastic wicker style cap by Midway Cap. It is a real cane wicker hat like the original DRR hats and also has brass Sante Fe side buttons!

No doubt it's original, and I guess the fact that it's actual wicker/cane and could be from 1971 contributes to its value, but that still seems like an awful lot of money for the piece.
