Six Flags Over Georgia RR

Post by Tommy Gray »

Just watched a show with Johnny Cash, "Ridin' The Rails." There near the beginning is a great segment on the Great Locomotive Chase of the Civil War and the trains they used were the locomotives of the SFoG Railroad. This show was filmed in 1974. Shots along the SFRR line show lots of trees. I remember riding the train at SF when I was 4 years old. It is amazing that I can remember the train going through a wooded area. This section had to be in an area of the park that was not developed, but I have no idea what side of the park that might have been. Seems it could have been the area where the Lickskillet section is today. I seem to remember exiting the enginehouse and going through a backwoods type area. Oh, well. The that part of the show brought back some really good memories. Hope everyone is okay during this time.
