Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone. I hope that there were trains under your tree this year. There weren't any for me but my other hobby, watch collecting, got a new addition instead.

Elliott, what kind of watches do you collect? I was lucky enough to get a nice Hamilton 992B Railway Special pocket watch for Christmas (I must have been a gooood boy!)Locoboy5150 wrote:Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone. Re: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a Happy New Year! I recently acquired a Hamilton watch. How do you identify the watch model? I don't see any serial numbers/model numbers and I'm not about to open the watch up to look inside. I'll give a brief description of the watch. The numbers on the face are large/bold, rather square shaped numbers. There is the smaller, second face at the six o'clock position. The case is plain on the back and there is a "rope-like" detail that surrounds the face and also around the backside. The Hamilton name appears under the number 12. Any ideas?

I now see you really do need to open the back and look for the serial numbers on the works to ID the watch. I'm just not brave enough to do that yet.
