MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Post by Retlaw7 »

I had a great kickoff to 2015 thanks to Roger Colton and Michael Campbell. Also a great end at Disneyland in November. Thank you Michael!

You honored us with your participation, Bill! Yes, 2015 was a great year filled with great friends, many of whom I know through Burnsland.

I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year!

Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone. I hope that there were trains under your tree this year. There weren't any for me but my other hobby, watch collecting, got a new addition instead. :)

Elliott, what kind of watches do you collect? I was lucky enough to get a nice Hamilton 992B Railway Special pocket watch for Christmas (I must have been a gooood boy!)

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a Happy New Year! I recently acquired a Hamilton watch. How do you identify the watch model? I don't see any serial numbers/model numbers and I'm not about to open the watch up to look inside. I'll give a brief description of the watch. The numbers on the face are large/bold, rather square shaped numbers. There is the smaller, second face at the six o'clock position. The case is plain on the back and there is a "rope-like" detail that surrounds the face and also around the backside. The Hamilton name appears under the number 12. Any ideas?

I now see you really do need to open the back and look for the serial numbers on the works to ID the watch. I'm just not brave enough to do that yet.
