To bring this on-topic, the train is going counter-clockwise.

Ok, I learned something. Apparently the two original trains travelled in opposite directions on the loop passing at the Main St station, or so I've read...

What you read is incorrect. Where did you read that?

They travelled in the same direction, "leapfrogging" at sidings located at Main Street and Frontierland.

The Ryman drawing in the Prospectus has any number of things that were never built or operated as depicted--the counter-clockwise trains (and riverboat) among them.

I still wonder where folks got the idea the trains ran in opposite directions. Is that from Wikipedia?

I like the expanded emphasis on trains in the concept drawing. Cool stuff...

A real, actual roundhouse with turntable would have been awesome. And how about the relocated Carolwood Pacific running through Lilliputian Land? Oh what might have been!

That would have been awesome, though it's odd for me to see Adventureland on the opposite side of the park roughly where Space Mountain and the dioramas are today, would have been a jarring transition into Tomorrowland

Ah. Found a reference here. Of course, they also call the handcar a "pump trolley."
