Mobius the Football Goat

Running for a Touchdown!

Mobius the Goat runs toward the endzone for a touchdown in a football game. Just a few more yards to go!

Mobius the Goat runs toward the endzone for a touchdown in a football game. Just a few more yards to go!

And while Mobius the Goat is a goat who plays football, he does not claim to be the football G.O.A.T. And he does not see the point in entering into that conversation, either, as that is somewhat up to personal opinion. Instead of worrying about being the G.O.A.T., this goat is just hoping to make it to the endzone before one of the defense players gets his goat.

Who says animals can’t play sports? After all, Santa’s reindeer have their Reindeer Games, even if they would not let Rudolph join in. So maybe goats have their own football league, too. I wonder who would be the G.O.A.T. of the Goat League?

And by the way, if you did not already know, G.O.A.T. stands for Greatest Of All Time. Just to make sure we are all on the same page with the goat jokes here.

Football Season

It is football season again. And yes, we watch a lot of football at our house. Plus, we have a football player in the family. So now some of the games that we watch are streamed through a website instead of broadcast over the airwaves, or cable wires, or satellite waves. But those games are still just as exciting to watch, especially when you have a connection to the team.

But no, this goat is not meant to represent anyone in particular. He is just Mobius the Goat on the football field, running for his life. And for 6 points. Do you know how hard it is to hold on to a football using a hoof?

May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. - 2 Thessalonians 3:5

About the Artwork

I have had this drawing in my mind for a while, but it took me some time to find the time to actually draw it. But here it is, finally. Even though we are now more at the middle of the football season than at the beginning of it.

When I was thinking about it, I thought it would be funny to have Mobius the Goat running on actual grass instead of trying to draw grass. Plus, it would save time on the background, too. So I took a photo of our front yard grass and used that for the background, painting in some faded football lines. Yes, the grass was a little long at that time and was in need of cutting, but that helps you to see the grass texture, too.

As is usual for me, this was created using the Procreate app on an iPad with an Apple Pencil. Except, of course, for the photo, which was taken with my camera and added in as a layer in Procreate later on.
